Microsoft's browser takes back the Edge with streamlined settings

If you’ve ever tried to adjust a setting in Microsoft Edge and ended up lost in a maze of options, this update is for you. Microsoft is giving the Edge Settings page a major overhaul to make finding the settings you need faster and simpler.

What’s Changing?

With the upcoming update, Edge will feature a new quick access panel directly under the main Settings menu. This panel provides shortcuts to the most frequently used settings, so you won’t have to dig through multiple menus.

Edge is also reorganizing its settings into smaller, focused submenus like “System and Performance” and “Appearance,” making it much easier to find exactly what you’re looking for. Each of these submenus will come with its own quick-access shortcuts too, so you can navigate directly to specific settings in seconds.

A Competitive Edge Against Chrome

This streamlined approach could give Edge a boost against Google Chrome, which has often been praised for its clean and well-organized settings. If you’re still using Chrome as your default browser, this update could be the perfect reason to give Edge another shot.

When Can You Expect It?

Microsoft is currently testing the new settings layout, with plans to roll it out to all users soon. Once it’s available, you can look forward to a smoother, more intuitive experience with Edge.
